Former ABC News Anchor Tanya Spencer Passes Away at 53 After Battle with Cancer

Tanya Spencer, a former anchor for the ABC affiliate WRTV, has раssеd аwау at the age of 53 after a courageous battle with colon cancer. Known professionally as Tanya Spencer during her television career, she succumbed to the illness on May 24 at her home.

Spencer had a distinguished career in journalism, spending two decades as a TV reporter. She dedicated half of her career to WRTV, where she was both a reporter and host. Her contributions to the field were widely recognized, making her a beloved figure in the Indianapolis community.

Spencer leaves behind her husband and a teenage son. Her journey with cancer began with a difficult surgery on November 17, 2022, when she was diagnosed with colon cancer. She revealed in 2015 that she had a rare genetic mutation known as the Kras G12c mutation, which led to the аggrеssivе and rapid growth of the cancer. Unfortunately, her chemotherapy treatment was unsuccessful, and the cancer metastasized to other parts of her abdomen.
